How We Help
Canadian immigration routes depend on what you intend to do, how long you plan to stay and your individual family, study, business or travel circumstances. Lawyers for Expats Thailand starts with your real situation, helps identify the Canadian application pathway that appears appropriate and explains the evidence needed before paperwork is prepared.
How We Help
The route is identified from your genuine circumstances, not chosen first and fitted to the facts afterwards. Here is what happens from the first call onward.
We start with the real purpose of the proposed visit or move, including who is travelling, why they need to go to Canada, how long they intend to stay and their relevant circumstances in Thailand and Canada.
We distinguish between temporary visiting, business travel, study, family sponsorship and other Canadian immigration circumstances before application preparation begins.
Once an apparent route has been identified, we review the financial, family, employment, study, relationship, travel or other supporting evidence relevant to that application.
Where the matter falls within services we can properly assist with, we help prepare the application. Where the circumstances require another Canadian immigration pathway or specialist Canadian advice, that boundary is explained clearly. The relevant Canadian authorities determine eligibility and make immigration decisions, not Lawyers for Expats Thailand.
What We Do For Our Clients
Route assessment touches the genuine purpose, the relevant Canadian pathways and the evidence they each require. Here is the actual scope of what our team handles.
Route assessment starts with what the person genuinely intends to do. Examples can include visiting Canada temporarily, visiting family or friends, attending business meetings, studying, living permanently with a spouse or common-law partner, pursuing qualifying family sponsorship, or dealing with a previous refusal. The service does not start by choosing whichever visa sounds easiest.
What if I am not sure whether my trip is a visit, business trip or something else?
We start with the activities you genuinely intend to undertake in Canada rather than choosing a visa label first. The purpose, duration, funding and nature of the proposed activities help identify the application pathway that appears appropriate.
Temporary residence and permanent immigration are different. Temporary circumstances may include tourism, visiting family or friends, qualifying temporary business activity, and study where the appropriate requirements are met. Permanent immigration may involve completely different pathways, and a visitor visa should not be presented as a substitute for an appropriate permanent immigration route.
Can I use a visitor visa if I actually intend to move permanently to Canada?
A visitor visa is a temporary resident visa and should not be presented as a substitute for an appropriate permanent immigration pathway. If the real intention involves permanent residence, the circumstances need to be assessed against the relevant Canadian immigration options.
Family relationships do not all use the same Canadian immigration process. Existing Canada hub services include spouse/common-law sponsorship and parent/grandparent sponsorship, and not every relative can be sponsored under these programs.
Does having family in Canada automatically mean they can sponsor me?
No. Canadian family sponsorship depends on the relationship, the sponsor's circumstances and the requirements of the relevant immigration program. Having a relative in Canada does not by itself create a sponsorship pathway.
Study has its own immigration requirements. Depending on the applicant and current rules, this can involve genuine study purpose, an appropriate institution, acceptance documentation, financial evidence, study permit requirements, and PAL/TAL requirements where applicable. Studying is not presented as an automatic route to permanent residence.
Can I use a Canadian study permit simply as a route to permanent residence?
A study permit is issued for genuine study and is not itself permanent residence. Any later work or permanent immigration pathway has separate eligibility requirements and should not be assumed when preparing the study permit application.
Cards 01–06 do not represent the entire Canadian immigration system. A person's circumstances may instead involve work permits, economic immigration, Express Entry, provincial immigration programs, another family sponsorship category, another permanent residence route, business immigration, complex admissibility issues, or another Canadian immigration category. We do not force clients into one of the website's existing service categories where it does not genuinely fit — specialist Canadian immigration advice may be required.
What if none of the Canadian visa services on this page fits my situation?
That does not necessarily mean there is no Canadian immigration pathway. Your circumstances may fall under a different Canadian program or require specialist Canadian immigration advice. We first identify the nature of the case rather than forcing it into an unsuitable application category.
Where the apparent route falls within services represented by this hub, the service can involve circumstances review, route assessment, document identification, financial evidence, family or relationship evidence, study evidence where applicable, business evidence where applicable, travel evidence, Thai supporting documents, application preparation, consistency checks, submission support, and further-document requirements. Where the matter falls outside our verified scope, we say so clearly.
Who makes the final decision about my Canadian visa or immigration application?
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and other relevant Canadian authorities make immigration decisions. Lawyers for Expats Thailand can assess the circumstances and help prepare appropriate applications within its verified scope but cannot guarantee eligibility or approval.
Our Commitment To You
We assess the real purpose of the proposed visit, study, family move or other Canadian immigration matter before identifying an application pathway.
Different circumstances require different Canadian immigration pathways, and we explain when a case does not fit one of the standard services shown on this hub.
Once the apparent pathway has been identified, we organise the supporting evidence around that application rather than preparing paperwork before the purpose is clear.
We help with matters within our verified scope and explain when specialist Canadian immigration or legal advice may be required. Canadian authorities make final eligibility and immigration decisions.
