How We Help
Business travel to Canada needs an application that clearly explains why you are travelling, who you will meet and how the proposed visit relates to your employment or business in Thailand. Lawyers for Expats Thailand helps Thai citizens prepare visitor visa applications for genuine temporary business visits, organising the business, financial and travel evidence around the real purpose of the trip.
How We Help
A business visitor application is prepared around your real business purpose, not a template. Here is what happens from the first call through to the decision.
We start by understanding why you need to travel to Canada, the people or organisations involved, what activities you intend to undertake, how long the visit will last and how it connects to your employment or business outside Canada.
We organise the invitation, Thai employment or business evidence, financial documents, itinerary and supporting information relevant to the proposed visit.
We prepare the application so the temporary business purpose, the applicant's professional circumstances in Thailand and the Canadian travel arrangements are presented clearly and consistently.
We help organise submission, biometrics and further-document stages where applicable and remain involved as the application progresses. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada makes the visa decision, not Lawyers for Expats Thailand.
What We Do For Our Clients
A business visitor application touches the business purpose, evidence from both countries and the applicant's continuing ties to Thailand together. Here is the actual scope of what our team handles.
A genuine business visitor comes to Canada temporarily for qualifying international business activities without entering the Canadian labour market. Possible circumstances may include meetings, consultations, conferences, conventions, commercial discussions, negotiations, meetings with customers, meetings with suppliers, professional events, and other legitimate temporary business activities.
Is a Canadian Business Visitor Visa the same as a work permit?
No. Business visitor activity is different from working in Canada. A genuine business visitor comes temporarily for permitted international business activities while their main place of business and main source of income remain outside Canada. If the proposed activity amounts to work in Canada, a work permit or another appropriate authorization may be required.
Where a Canadian company, organisation or business contact is involved, evidence may include an invitation letter, organisation details, the Canadian contact person, purpose of meetings, nature of the commercial relationship, meeting dates, conference or event details, places being visited, accommodation arrangements, and financial support where relevant.
The applicant's professional circumstances outside Canada are central to showing the temporary international business nature of the visit. Depending on the applicant, evidence may involve Thai employment, job title, employer, business ownership, Thai company information, the applicant's responsibilities, commercial relationship with the Canadian organisation, business reason for travel, authorized business travel, financial circumstances, and continuing responsibilities in Thailand.
What if I own my own business in Thailand?
Business owners and self-employed applicants can present evidence appropriate to their circumstances. We organise the company, financial and supporting documents so the applicant's role, main place of business, source of income and genuine reason for travelling to Canada are explained clearly.
The application should make clear who is paying for flights, accommodation, local transport, daily costs, and legitimate business-related expenses. Funding may come from the applicant, a Thai employer, the applicant's Thai business, the Canadian organisation, or another legitimate arrangement depending on circumstances.
Can the Canadian company inviting me pay for my trip?
A Canadian organisation may cover legitimate travel, accommodation or other expenses depending on the circumstances. Where it does, we organise the supporting evidence so the arrangement is explained clearly. Payment of travel expenses does not by itself determine whether the applicant qualifies as a business visitor.
The question is not simply whether the applicant says they are travelling 'for business' — the actual activities matter. IRCC distinguishes business visitors from workers. For genuine business visitor treatment, the visit is temporary, the applicant's main place of business remains outside Canada, the applicant's main source of income remains outside Canada, and the applicant is not entering the Canadian labour market in a way requiring work authorization. Where the intended activity goes beyond qualifying business visitor activity, another route may need to be assessed.
How do I know whether I am a business visitor or need a Canadian work permit?
The actual activities and business arrangements need to be examined. Genuine business visitors remain connected to their employment or business and source of income outside Canada and come temporarily for permitted business activities. If the proposed activities amount to work in Canada or entry into the Canadian labour market, a work permit or another authorization may be required.
We help with business-purpose review, visitor visa/TRV preparation, Canadian invitation evidence, Thai employment or business evidence, financial evidence, travel itinerary, accommodation, supporting Thai documents, consistency of dates and business purpose, submission preparation, biometrics where required, and further-document requests where appropriate.
Who decides whether my Canadian Business Visitor application is approved?
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada makes the visa decision. Lawyers for Expats Thailand helps prepare and organise the application but does not control or guarantee the outcome.
Our Commitment To You
We prepare the application around what you genuinely need to do in Canada rather than treating every commercial trip as automatically qualifying for business visitor treatment.
We bring together the applicant's Thai employment or business evidence and the Canadian invitation or business information so the proposed visit is presented consistently.
We review the proposed activities carefully and do not present work in Canada as though it were automatically permitted business visiting.
We remain involved as the application progresses and help with further-document requirements where appropriate while remaining clear that IRCC makes the decision.
