How We Help
Business travel to Europe needs an application that clearly explains why you are travelling, who you are meeting and how the proposed trip relates to your work or business in Thailand. Lawyers for Expats Thailand prepares and manages Schengen business visa applications for Thai citizens travelling for permitted short business visits, meetings and professional activities.
How We Help
A Schengen business application is prepared around your actual business trip, not a template. Here is what happens from the first call through to the decision.
We establish why you are travelling, the countries and organisations involved, the proposed activities, dates, accommodation and how the trip will be funded.
We organise the invitation, company, employment, financial, travel and other supporting evidence relevant to the proposed business visit.
We prepare the application so the business purpose, itinerary, inviting organisation and supporting evidence are presented consistently.
We manage the application from submission through to the decision, assisting with the process and additional-document requests where appropriate. The competent Schengen authority makes the decision, not Lawyers for Expats Thailand.
What We Do For Our Clients
A business application brings together the invitation, the Thai business evidence and a coherent itinerary. Here is the actual scope of what our team handles.
The first task is establishing exactly why the applicant is travelling. Examples may include business meetings, commercial discussions, meetings with clients or suppliers, conferences, trade fairs, professional events, and other permitted short business activities. Not every activity described as "business" is automatically permitted, so we confirm what fits the proposed trip.
Is a Schengen business visa the same as a work visa?
No. A short-stay Schengen visa for business travel is not the same as permission to take up employment or long-term work in a Schengen country. The proposed activities need to be appropriate for the short business visit being made.
Business applications commonly rely on evidence from the organisation or people being visited. Depending on the trip this may involve an invitation, inviting-organisation details, a contact person, the reason for the meeting or event, dates, the business relationship, conference or trade-fair information, and accommodation or support where relevant. Requirements can differ by destination, and there is no single universal business invitation format.
We help organise the Thai side of the business trip. Depending on circumstances this may include employer confirmation, the applicant's position, business ownership, company documents, the purpose of travel, the relationship with the European organisation, authorised leave or travel, and responsibility for costs.
What if I own my own business in Thailand?
Self-employed applicants and business owners can present evidence appropriate to their own circumstances. We organise the business and financial documentation so the applicant's role, business activities and reason for travelling are explained clearly.
The application should establish who is paying for flights and travel, accommodation, daily expenses and business-related costs where relevant. Funding may come from the applicant, the Thai employer or business, the inviting organisation, or another legitimate arrangement depending on the circumstances.
Can the company inviting me pay for the trip?
An inviting organisation may be able to cover some or all of the travel or accommodation costs depending on the circumstances. Where it does, the application should explain the arrangement clearly and include appropriate supporting evidence.
We bring together meeting dates, the organisations being visited, destinations, accommodation, internal travel, conference or event dates, and arrival and departure plans, so the itinerary corresponds with the stated business purpose rather than reading like a tourism itinerary.
Our work includes application preparation, organising the business evidence, invitation documentation, Thai employer or company evidence, financial evidence, itinerary, accommodation and supporting documents, before preparing for submission. Applicants also go through a biometric stage where applicable. We manage the application through to the decision and assist with further-document requests where appropriate.
Who decides whether my Schengen business visa is approved?
The decision is made by the competent authority of the Schengen state handling the application. Lawyers for Expats Thailand prepares and manages the application but does not control or guarantee the outcome.
