How We Help
Planning a holiday in Europe should not mean trying to work through the Schengen visa process alone. Lawyers for Expats Thailand prepares and manages Schengen tourist visa applications for Thai citizens, organising the application, supporting evidence and travel documentation from preparation and submission through to the decision.
How We Help
A Schengen tourist application is prepared around your actual travel plans, not a template. Here is what happens from the first call through to the decision.
We start by understanding where you plan to travel, how long you intend to stay, which Schengen countries you will visit, where you will stay and how the trip will be funded.
We identify and organise the travel, financial, employment, accommodation and other evidence relevant to your trip and circumstances in Thailand.
We prepare the application and supporting documentation, checking that your itinerary, accommodation, finances and personal circumstances are presented consistently.
We manage the application from submission through to the decision, assisting with the process and further information requests where appropriate. The relevant Schengen state's competent authority makes the visa decision, not Lawyers for Expats Thailand.
What We Do For Our Clients
A Schengen tourist application brings together the itinerary, the evidence and the funding of the trip. Here is the actual scope of what our team handles.
The application needs to reflect the genuine proposed trip. Relevant circumstances may include the countries being visited, the main destination, length of stay in each country, travel dates, tourism plans, accommodation, transport and travel arrangements, who is paying for the trip, and the applicant's circumstances in Thailand.
Which country should I apply to for my Schengen visa?
The correct country depends on the actual travel itinerary. Where several Schengen countries are being visited, the application is generally made to the country that is the main destination, usually where the traveller will spend the longest period. If the stays are equal, the first country visited generally determines where the application is lodged.
We help organise evidence relevant to the individual applicant. Depending on circumstances this may involve employment, business or self-employment, finances, family or personal circumstances, previous travel, accommodation, the reason for travel, circumstances in Thailand, and evidence supporting the intention to return after the trip.
Does every Thai applicant need the same documents?
No. The evidence should reflect the individual traveller, the proposed trip and their circumstances in Thailand. We identify what is relevant to the particular application rather than treating every traveller as identical.
The visa application, itinerary and accommodation should make sense together. We help organise information relating to proposed destinations, dates, accommodation, travel between destinations, and consistency across reservations and the information given in the application.
The application needs to show how the trip will be funded. Depending on the circumstances this may involve the applicant's own funds, employment or business income, savings, support from another person where permitted, accommodation provided by another person, and evidence showing how that support relates to the traveller and the trip.
Can somebody else pay for my Schengen holiday?
Another person may be able to support the trip depending on the circumstances and the requirements applied to the application. Where somebody else is providing financial or accommodation support, we organise the evidence so the relationship, nature of the support and supporting circumstances are presented clearly.
Short-stay Schengen applications include supporting requirements such as appropriate travel medical insurance and documentation required by the competent authority. Thai-language documents relied upon may require appropriate translations depending on the application and authority, which we identify during preparation.
Our work includes preparing the application, checking personal details, reviewing itinerary consistency, reviewing financial and support evidence, organising documentation and preparing for submission. Applicants also go through a biometric or fingerprint stage where applicable. We manage the application through to the decision and help with additional-document requests where appropriate.
Who decides whether my Schengen tourist visa is approved?
The decision is made by the competent authority of the Schengen state handling the application. Lawyers for Expats Thailand prepares and manages the application but does not control or guarantee the outcome.
