How We Help
A New Zealand student visa application needs to show more than an offer from a school or education provider. Lawyers for Expats Thailand helps Thai students organise the study, financial and supporting documents needed to present a genuine and consistent student visa application within the firm's verified service scope.
How We Help
A student visa application is prepared around your real study plans, not a template. Here is what happens from the first call through to the decision.
We start by understanding what you intend to study, the education provider, course, duration, previous education and how the proposed study fits your academic or professional plans.
We organise the offer of place, education-provider information and other study documents relevant to the application.
We organise the financial, academic, personal and supporting evidence needed to explain how the study will be funded and why the proposed course makes sense for the applicant.
Where the matter falls within services the firm can properly provide, we organise the application documentation and support the applicant through relevant document stages. Immigration New Zealand makes the student visa decision, not Lawyers for Expats Thailand.
What We Do For Our Clients
A student visa application touches the offer of place, the financial position and the study purpose together. Here is the actual scope of what our team handles.
The application begins with the genuine study plan. Relevant circumstances can include the education provider, course, qualification, study duration, previous education, current employment where relevant, career background, academic progression, and why the applicant chose the course.
Does an offer of place guarantee that I will get a New Zealand Student Visa?
No. An offer of place is an important part of a student visa application, but Immigration New Zealand separately assesses the visa application and the applicant's overall circumstances.
Most international students studying for more than 3 months need an offer of place or appropriate enrolment evidence from a New Zealand education provider. Depending on the route, supporting material may include the offer of place, course information, provider information, tuition-related evidence, previous academic records, and other study documentation.
Immigration New Zealand checks whether the applicant genuinely intends to study and comply with their visa conditions. Relevant evidence can include previous education, reason for choosing the course, reason for choosing New Zealand, how the study fits future plans, academic progression, employment background where relevant, and family or personal circumstances.
Do I need to explain why I want to study this course in New Zealand?
Yes. Immigration New Zealand considers whether the applicant genuinely intends to study. We organise the applicant's real academic, professional and personal reasons so the proposed course fits coherently within the application.
Applicants must show enough money to support themselves and cover relevant study and living costs. Depending on circumstances, evidence may involve personal funds, family support, scholarship, loan, sponsor or support arrangements, and other legitimate sources.
Can my parents or family pay for my studies in New Zealand?
Yes, financial support may come from family or another legitimate source where the arrangement is properly documented. The evidence should show the source of the funds and how the applicant's study and living costs will be supported.
Depending on the application, relevant Thai documents may include passport or identity documents, education records, transcripts, employment records where relevant, financial documents, family support documents, civil documents, police or medical documentation where required, and other supporting evidence. Translations may be required where applicable.
We help with study plan, offer of place, education-provider evidence, academic records, financial evidence, Thai supporting documents, application information, consistency checks, supporting-document organisation, further-document requests where appropriate, and support through the relevant application stages.
Who decides whether my New Zealand Student Visa is approved?
Immigration New Zealand makes the student visa decision. Lawyers for Expats Thailand helps organise and prepare documentation within its verified scope but does not control or guarantee the outcome.
Can I work while studying in New Zealand?
Some student visas allow eligible students to work under specific conditions, but work rights depend on the course and visa conditions and are not automatic for every student visa. For example, eligible student visas granted from 3 November 2025 can currently allow work during term time, with different conditions during scheduled breaks. The primary purpose of the student visa is study, and the applicant must comply with the conditions on the visa granted.
Does studying in New Zealand guarantee that I can stay and work after graduation?
No. A student visa and a Post Study Work Visa are separate immigration permissions. Eligibility to work after study depends on the qualification completed and the immigration rules that apply at the relevant time.
