How We Help
New Zealand has different work visa pathways depending on the job, employer and applicant's circumstances. Lawyers for Expats Thailand helps Thai applicants organise the employment, qualification, experience and supporting documents relevant to the work visa route being pursued, within the firm's verified service scope.
How We Help
A work visa case is prepared around your genuine employment circumstances, not a template. Here is what happens from the first call through to the decision.
We start by understanding the proposed employment, employer, occupation, applicant's experience and qualifications and the work they intend to undertake in New Zealand.
We distinguish between employer-linked and other applicable work visa pathways before application documents are prepared.
We bring together the genuine job offer, employer information, qualifications, experience and Thai supporting documents relevant to the application.
Where the matter falls within services the firm can properly provide, we organise the application documentation and support the applicant through relevant document stages. Immigration New Zealand makes the visa decision, not Lawyers for Expats Thailand.
What We Do For Our Clients
A work visa case touches the job, the employer and the correct route together. Here is the actual scope of what our team handles.
The work visa assessment begins with the real proposed employment. Relevant matters can include the employer, job title, occupation, duties, hours, work location, the applicant's qualifications, the applicant's experience, and proposed employment conditions.
Does having a job offer automatically mean I can get a New Zealand work visa?
No. A job offer can be an important part of some work visa routes, but the applicant, employer, role and application must meet the requirements of the relevant visa category. Immigration New Zealand makes the final decision.
The Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) is currently the main temporary work visa for people with qualifying job offers from accredited New Zealand employers. At a high level, an AEWV application is linked to an accredited employer, a qualifying job offer, the relevant employer or job process, and the applicant meeting the requirements applicable to the role.
Does my employer need to be accredited?
For the Accredited Employer Work Visa, the job offer must come from an employer accredited for the AEWV process. Other work visa categories may operate differently, so the relevant route needs to be identified before the application is prepared.
Depending on the work route, evidence may involve an employment agreement, job offer, employer details, job description, qualifications, professional registration where applicable, previous employment records, references, evidence of relevant work experience, and other occupation-specific supporting material.
Depending on the route, relevant Thai documents may include passport or identity documents, qualifications, transcripts, employment records, professional documents, civil documents where relevant, name-change documents, police or medical documentation where required, and other supporting evidence. Translations may be required where applicable.
Not every work visa is based on an AEWV employer relationship. Other New Zealand work visa categories can involve circumstances such as partnership, post-study work, seasonal employment, and other specific temporary work categories.
Is the Accredited Employer Work Visa the only way to work in New Zealand?
No. New Zealand has a number of visas that permit work. The Accredited Employer Work Visa is the main employer-linked temporary work route, but other work visa categories exist depending on the applicant's circumstances.
We help with work route identification, job or employer evidence, applicant qualifications, experience evidence, Thai supporting documents, application information, consistency checks, supporting-document organisation, further-document requests where appropriate, and support through the relevant application stages.
Who decides whether my New Zealand Work Visa is approved?
Immigration New Zealand makes the visa decision. Lawyers for Expats Thailand helps organise and prepare documentation within its verified scope but does not control or guarantee the outcome.
Does getting a New Zealand Work Visa mean I will qualify for residence later?
No. A work visa and a resident visa are separate immigration permissions. Some people may later meet the requirements of a residence pathway, but that depends on the relevant rules and individual circumstances and should not be assumed when preparing a work visa application.
Our Commitment To You
We organise the application around the genuine employment, employer and applicant circumstances rather than trying to make an unsuitable role fit a visa route.
We distinguish between employer-linked and other work visa categories before the application documents are organised.
We bring together the job, qualifications, experience and supporting records so the application presents consistent information.
We support document preparation within the firm's verified scope while remaining clear that Immigration New Zealand makes the decision.
