How We Help
New Zealand family immigration routes depend on the exact family relationship, the status of the person already in New Zealand and whether the intended stay is temporary or permanent. Lawyers for Expats Thailand helps Thai families organise the relationship, civil and supporting documents relevant to the family pathway being pursued, within the firm's verified service scope.
How We Help
A family case is prepared around your actual relationship and circumstances, not a template. Here is what happens from the first call through to the decision.
We start by identifying who is in New Zealand, who wants to join or visit them, the exact family relationship and the current immigration or citizenship status of the supporting person.
We distinguish between temporary parent visits, parent residence, dependent-child and other family pathways before documents are prepared.
We bring together the civil, relationship, identity, financial and supporting documents relevant to the actual family route.
Where the matter falls within services the firm can properly provide, we organise application documentation and support the family through relevant document stages. Immigration New Zealand makes the visa or residence decision, not Lawyers for Expats Thailand.
What We Do For Our Clients
A family case touches the relationship, the correct pathway and the supporting person's status together. Here is the actual scope of what our team handles.
The correct route begins with the actual family relationship. Relevant circumstances can involve a parent, grandparent, dependent child, or another qualifying family relationship where an applicable New Zealand route exists.
Can any family member in New Zealand sponsor me?
No. New Zealand family visa options depend on the exact family relationship, the status of the person in New Zealand and the requirements of the relevant visa category. Having a relative in New Zealand does not automatically create a visa pathway.
The Parent Resident Visa is a residence pathway for qualifying parents of New Zealand citizens or residents. Current structure includes a qualifying sponsor, sponsorship requirements, sponsor income requirements, an Expression of Interest or selection process, and application after selection where applicable.
Is the Parent Resident Visa guaranteed if my child lives in New Zealand?
No. The Parent Resident Visa has specific sponsorship, financial and selection requirements. A child living in New Zealand does not by itself guarantee eligibility or residence.
The Parent Boost Visitor Visa is temporary. It is a visitor visa and does not itself create a pathway to residence. Sponsorship and insurance requirements apply.
Is the Parent Boost Visitor Visa a route to permanent residence?
No. The Parent Boost Visitor Visa is a temporary visitor route. It does not itself provide a pathway to permanent residence.
New Zealand also has temporary visitor options for eligible parents and grandparents. Depending on the route, evidence may involve the family relationship, sponsor or support evidence, travel purpose, accommodation, finances, temporary intentions, and supporting documents.
Child and family routes can depend on age, dependency, the parent's visa or residence status, family relationship, and whether the purpose is temporary or permanent.
Can my children come to New Zealand with me?
Possibly, depending on the visa route, the child's age and dependency, and the immigration status of the parent. Some children can be included in an application or apply separately under a family-based route, but the correct pathway depends on the circumstances.
We help with family relationship review, pathway identification, supporting-person evidence, civil documents, relationship evidence, financial or support evidence where relevant, Thai supporting documents, application information, consistency checks, supporting-document organisation, further-document requests where appropriate, and support through the relevant application stages.
Who decides whether my New Zealand Parent or Family Visa is approved?
Immigration New Zealand makes the visa or residence decision. Lawyers for Expats Thailand helps organise and prepare documentation within its verified scope but does not control or guarantee the outcome.
Our Commitment To You
We organise the case around the actual family relationship and circumstances rather than treating every family member as though they qualify under the same route.
We distinguish visitor, residence and other family pathways before documents are prepared.
We bring together the civil, relationship, sponsor and supporting documents relevant to the chosen route so the case presents consistent information.
We support document preparation within the firm's verified scope while remaining clear that Immigration New Zealand makes the decision.
