How We Help
Business travel to Australia needs an application that clearly explains why you are travelling, who you will meet and how the proposed visit relates to your work or business in Thailand. Lawyers for Expats Thailand prepares and manages Australian Business Visitor visa applications for Thai citizens travelling for genuine short business activities.
How We Help
A Business Visitor application is prepared around your actual business trip, not a template. Here is what happens from the first call through to the decision.
We start by understanding why you are travelling, the organisations or people you will meet, the activities involved, how long the trip will last and how the visit will be funded.
We identify and organise the invitation, company, employment, financial, itinerary and supporting evidence relevant to the proposed business visit.
We prepare the application so the business purpose, Thai employment or business circumstances, inviting organisation and travel arrangements are presented consistently.
We manage the application from submission through to the decision, assisting with further-information requests where appropriate. The Australian Department of Home Affairs makes the visa decision, not Lawyers for Expats Thailand.
What We Do For Our Clients
A Business Visitor application brings together the invitation, the Thai business evidence and a coherent itinerary. Here is the actual scope of what our team handles.
The application should clearly establish why the Thai applicant needs to travel to Australia. Possible genuine short business visitor circumstances may include business meetings, commercial discussions, negotiations, meetings with clients, meetings with suppliers, conferences, trade fairs, professional events, and other genuine short business visitor activities. Not every commercial activity automatically falls within the Business Visitor stream.
Is an Australian Business Visitor visa the same as a work visa?
No. The Business Visitor stream is for genuine short business visitor activities. It is not a substitute for a visa or permission required to take employment or perform work that falls outside permitted business visitor activities.
Many applications involve evidence from the Australian organisation or people being visited. Depending on the circumstances, this may include an invitation, Australian organisation details, a contact person, the purpose of the meeting, dates, the business relationship, conference information, trade-event information, and accommodation or financial support where relevant. There is no single mandatory invitation format, and not every applicant needs an Australian sponsor.
We also prepare the Thai side of the business trip. Depending on the applicant, relevant evidence may involve employment, job role, employer information, business ownership, Thai company information, the relationship with the Australian organisation, the purpose of travel, approved business travel or leave, responsibility for costs, and circumstances requiring the applicant to return to Thailand.
What if I own my own company in Thailand?
Business owners and self-employed applicants can present evidence appropriate to their own circumstances. We organise the business and financial documentation so the applicant's role, business activities and reason for travelling are explained clearly.
The application should make clear who is paying for travel, accommodation, day-to-day costs and relevant business expenses. Possible arrangements may involve the applicant, the Thai employer, the applicant's Thai company, the Australian organisation, or another legitimate arrangement depending on the circumstances.
Can the Australian company inviting me pay for the trip?
The inviting organisation may be able to cover some or all of the travel, accommodation or other costs depending on the circumstances. Where it does, we organise the supporting evidence so the arrangement is explained clearly.
We bring together meeting dates, the organisations being visited, destination cities, accommodation, conference or event dates where relevant, domestic travel arrangements where relevant, and arrival and departure plans, so the itinerary corresponds with the stated business purpose rather than reading like a tourism itinerary.
Our work includes application preparation, business-purpose evidence, invitation documentation, Thai employer or company evidence, financial evidence, accommodation and itinerary, and supporting Thai documents, checking names and dates and checking consistency, before preparing for submission. Applicants also go through identity or biometric requirements where applicable. We manage the application through to the decision and assist with further-information requests where appropriate.
Who decides whether my Australian Business Visitor visa is approved?
The Australian Department of Home Affairs makes the visa decision. Lawyers for Expats Thailand prepares and manages the application but does not control or guarantee the outcome.
