How We Help
Travelling from Thailand to Australia for a holiday or short visit should not mean trying to manage the visa paperwork alone. Lawyers for Expats Thailand prepares and manages Australian visitor visa applications for Thai citizens, organising the application and supporting evidence from preparation and submission through to the decision.
How We Help
An Australian visitor application is prepared around your circumstances, not a template. Here is what happens from the first call through to the decision.
We start by understanding why you want to travel to Australia, how long you intend to stay, where you will stay, who will fund the visit and your circumstances in Thailand.
We identify and organise the financial, employment, business, family, travel, accommodation and other evidence relevant to your individual circumstances.
We prepare the application and supporting documentation, checking that the purpose of the visit, personal circumstances, finances and travel arrangements are presented consistently.
We manage the application from submission through to the decision, assisting with the application process and further-information requests where appropriate. The Australian Department of Home Affairs makes the visa decision, not Lawyers for Expats Thailand.
What We Do For Our Clients
A visitor application touches the purpose of travel, funding and the applicant's circumstances in Thailand together. Here is the actual scope of what our team handles.
The application needs to reflect the real purpose and circumstances of the proposed visit. This may involve holiday or tourism, visiting friends, visiting family, a cruise, or another permitted visitor purpose, along with the proposed length of stay, accommodation, who is funding the trip, and the applicant's circumstances in Thailand.
Can I use an Australian Visitor visa to visit family or friends?
Yes. The Visitor visa framework includes travel for tourism and visits to family or friends, depending on the stream and the applicant's circumstances. We prepare the application around the genuine purpose of the proposed visit.
We organise evidence around the individual applicant rather than using one generic package. Depending on circumstances this may involve employment, business or self-employment, finances, family circumstances, previous travel, the reason for visiting Australia, accommodation, funding, and ongoing circumstances in Thailand.
Does every Thai applicant need the same evidence?
No. The supporting evidence should reflect the individual applicant, the reason for travel and their personal and financial circumstances. We identify what is relevant to the particular application.
The application needs to show how the trip will be supported. Depending on circumstances this may involve the applicant's own funds, employment or business income, savings, support from family or another person where appropriate, accommodation provided by another person, and evidence connecting the funding arrangements to the proposed visit.
Can somebody in Australia pay for my visit?
Another person may be able to support some or all of the visit depending on the circumstances. Where somebody else is providing financial or accommodation support, we organise the application so the relationship, nature of the support and supporting evidence are explained clearly.
We bring together the practical arrangements for the visit, including intended accommodation, proposed travel dates, destinations in Australia, a family or friend's address where relevant, travel plans, and consistency between the application and the supporting evidence.
Relevant Thai documents may need to be supplied and, where necessary, appropriately translated, which we identify during preparation. Health, character, identity or biometric requirements may also apply depending on the application and the instructions issued by Home Affairs.
Our work includes preparing the application, checking personal information, checking the travel purpose, organising financial and support evidence, accommodation and travel evidence, and Thai supporting documents, before preparing for submission. Applicants also go through identity or biometric steps where applicable. We manage the application through to the decision and assist with further-information requests where appropriate.
Who decides whether my Australian Visitor visa is approved?
The decision is made by the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Lawyers for Expats Thailand prepares and manages the application but does not control or guarantee the outcome.
