How We Help
Visiting the United Kingdom should not mean navigating the visa application process alone. Lawyers for Expats Thailand prepares and manages UK visitor visa applications for Thai citizens, organising the application and supporting evidence from preparation and submission through to the decision.
How We Help
A UK visitor application is prepared around your circumstances, not a template. Here is what happens from the first call through to the decision.
We start by understanding why you want to travel to the UK, how long you intend to stay, where you will stay, who will fund the visit and the circumstances you will return to in Thailand.
We identify and organise the supporting evidence relevant to your individual circumstances, including financial, employment, business, family, travel and sponsor evidence where applicable.
We bring the application and supporting documentation together, checking the information for consistency and preparing the application for submission.
We manage the application from submission through to the decision, assisting with the application process and any additional information requests where appropriate. The decision itself is made by the UK immigration authority, not by Lawyers for Expats Thailand.
What We Do For Our Clients
A UK visitor application touches evidence from both the applicant and, where relevant, a sponsor in the UK. Here is the actual scope of what our team handles.
We prepare a UK visitor application around the applicant's actual circumstances rather than a generic document list. That can include the purpose of travel, intended duration, accommodation, employment or business in Thailand, financial circumstances, family and personal circumstances, previous travel where relevant, who is funding the trip, and any relationship with a UK sponsor where relevant.
Do all applicants need the same documents?
No. The evidence should reflect the individual applicant, their reason for travelling and their personal and financial circumstances. We identify what is relevant to the particular application rather than treating every case as identical.
We help organise the evidence needed to present a clear and consistent application. This may involve evidence relating to identity, employment, business or self-employment, finances, circumstances in Thailand, previous travel, accommodation and the reason for the visit, along with any other evidence relevant to that particular applicant.
Many of our clients are British or foreign partners helping their Thai partner visit the United Kingdom. Where another person is providing accommodation, travel costs, maintenance or other support, the application needs to explain that support clearly and connect it properly to the applicant's circumstances. Relevant material may include the relationship between applicant and sponsor, the nature of the support, accommodation, the sponsor's ability to provide the stated support, the sponsor's UK status where relevant, and supporting financial evidence where appropriate.
Can my British partner pay for my trip?
Yes, a visit can be supported by another person where the circumstances meet the applicable visitor requirements. The application should clearly explain the relationship, what support is being provided and the evidence supporting those arrangements.
Does having a British boyfriend, girlfriend or spouse guarantee a visitor visa?
No. A relationship with somebody in the UK does not guarantee approval. The application is considered on the Thai applicant's individual circumstances and whether the visitor requirements are satisfied.
Where Thai-language documents need an appropriate English translation for the application, we identify this during preparation and make sure the supporting documentation is organised correctly.
Our work includes bringing the application and supporting evidence together before submission — checking names and dates, checking consistency between statements and evidence, identifying obvious gaps, organising the supporting documents and carrying out a final review before the application is prepared for submission.
The application proceeds through submission and the required identity and biometric stage at a visa application centre. We manage the application from submission through to the decision and assist with any additional information or document requests where appropriate.
Who decides whether my UK visitor visa is approved?
The decision is made by the relevant UK immigration authority. Lawyers for Expats Thailand prepares and manages the application, but we do not control or guarantee the outcome.
Our Commitment To You
We prepare the application around your real circumstances rather than relying on a generic one-size-fits-all document package.
We organise the application and supporting material so the information presented across the application is coherent and consistent.
Where a partner or family member in the UK is supporting the visit, we help organise the relevant information from both the Thai applicant and the person providing support.
We manage the application from submission through to the decision and remain available as the application progresses.
