There are certain jobs and professions in Thailand that are prohibited for foreigners to engage in.

All manual work is prohibited to foreigners

It is even against the law to engage in work if unpaid, you need to obtain a volunteer visa.

To work in Thailand you are normally required to obtain a work permit but there are some exceptions.

Working without a work permit is against the law and in the past has led to imprisonment and or deportation or a fine.

There are have been some changes but it is still against the law to engage in work without a work permit.
