"Thailand Privilege is a membership that confers residency rights, not a visa in the conventional sense. That distinction has practical consequences clients sometimes discover too late — most notably on work rights, tax treatment and what happens if the programme itself changes terms."

Membership grants a multi-year visa stamp. No yearly trips to Immigration, no annual paperwork.
No Financial Proof Required
No bank balance requirement, no income threshold, no asset verification — unlike retirement or LTR visas.
No Health Insurance Mandate
No OIC-approved insurance is required. Health coverage is chosen independently.
VIP Airport Service
Dedicated fast-track Immigration lanes and personal meet-and-greet concierge at Suvarnabhumi and other major airports.
Annual Immigration Reporting
The 90-day reporting obligation is replaced with a single annual report, handled by the Privilege team on your behalf.
Government Hospital Privileges
Access to Thailand's government hospital system at local rates, typically 10–20× cheaper than private hospitals.
How to Apply
Application Process
Submit Online Application
Complete the application on the Thailand Privilege Card official website. Select your membership tier and upload your passport photograph and scan.
Pay Membership Fee
Pay the one-time membership fee via bank transfer or credit card. The fee is non-refundable once approved — confirm your tier before payment.
Background Verification
Thailand Privilege conducts a standard background check, typically completed within 30 business days. Applicants with criminal records are ineligible.
Card and Visa Issuance
Upon approval, your Privilege Card and initial visa stamp are issued. Your personal concierge contact is assigned at this stage.
Privilege vs LTR
Which Route Fits?
Both offer long-term residency without yearly renewal burdens. The key differences are cost structure, tax treatment and work rights.
| Feature | Privilege Card | LTR Visa |
|---|---|---|
| Income Requirement | None | USD 80,000/yr |
| Annual Renewal | No | Yes (BOI review) |
| Health Insurance | Not required | USD 50,000 cover required |
| Airport Concierge | Yes, included | Fast-track only |
| 90-Day Reporting | Annual (handled for you) | Annual only |
| Work Rights | None | Yes (with work permit) |
| Tax Benefits | None | Royal Decree 743 exemption |
| Best For | Convenience, zero admin | Tax benefits, work rights |
Health Insurance
The Privilege Card has no health insurance mandate. The LTR Visa requires USD 50,000 minimum cover per year. Neither replaces the practical need for comprehensive private health insurance — Thailand's private hospital costs make independent cover strongly advisable for any long-term resident.
